Who takes the CISI Investment Advice Diploma?
The CISI Investment Advice Diploma is suitable for advisors dealing in securities or derivatives and for staff advising on packaged products.

Upon successful completion you will have the right to use the professional designatory letters ACSI.
What's on the syllabus?
The CISI Investment Advice Diploma is achieved by passing the following units successfully:
- UK Regulation and Professional Integrity
- Investment, Risk and Taxation
Plus at least one technical unit, depending on your role:
- Financial Planning and Advice*
*FPA has substantially similar syllabuses and are taught in the same classroom sessions.
Please note – if you are studying in the UK, you will need to register and purchase the exam and CISI manual directly with the examining body. Fitch Learning is only able to provide material to corporate clients for whom a fully-managed exam administration service is provided.
How much work is required?
We estimate that you will need to do 180 hours of study for each of the papers.
When are the exams?
Each unit is examined by multiple choice. The multiple-choice exams are administered via computer-based testing and run throughout the year.
NOTE: The IAD Financial Planning and Advice exam uses a combination of multiple-choice and multiple-select questions. Multiple-select questions have more than one correct answer and all correct answer must be selected to gain a mark.
